A Rocky Point man is facing charges after a cat was found abandoned in a hotel room.
The Suffolk SPCA says the 9-month-old cat named Nicks was found locked inside a room at the Ramada Place in Holtsville.
Officials say David Matthews checked out of the hotel on April 19 and left the cat behind.
Investigators say several other guests stayed in the room after Matthews, before the cat was discovered.
Matthews is charged with abandonment.
