Bullets ripped through the walls of a house in Wyandanch Wednesday evening, striking two teens inside.
Police say 10 shots were fired at the home on Commonwealth Drive.
Authorities say 19-year-old Suha Cannon was hit once in the chest. An unidentified 18-year-old man was hit in the leg. Both have been treated and released from the hospital.
News 12 spoke with Tonya Cannon, Suha's mother, who said she was sitting in a back room when bullets started flying into the home.
She says her daughter doesn't deserve to be caught up in senseless violence.
Police say the shooters’ intended target was a 16-year-old boy who lives at the home. They believe the shots were fired from two different guns.
Detectives say multiple witnesses saw youths on bikes and two cars drive by at the time of the incident.
No arrests have been made. Authorities are urging anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
