An East Meadow couple was arrested Tuesday after police say they found heroin, cocaine, hypodermic needles and a knife in their car, along with two unrestrained children in the back seat.
Police say they observed Francis Dima, 45, and Andrea Dima, 38, driving on Corporate Drive in Westbury with extensive damage to the front end and a flashlight being used as a headlight.
During the traffic stop, police say they found 89 pills believed to be oxycodone, among other drugs. They also say they found a black folding knife in the center console.
Their two children, ages 5 and 6, were released to a family member.
The couple is facing multiple charges, including possession of a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of a child.
