A local artist who is losing his sight has created a unique mural that has an important message.
Tony Cruz, also known as Ram Two, is an award-winning graffiti artist and published poet who is working on the mural in Soundview.
Cruz began having vision problems nine years ago, around the time his mother died.
Now he says he wants people to take preventative measures to protect their vision.
"The real message is that if the eyes are not protected, your life is gonna change drastically and you can prevent it,” he says.

Cruz is adding braille underneath the words of the poem in the mural so it’s accessible to everyone.
