An Italian restaurant replaces the meat and cheese normally found in Italian food with vegan and vegetarian alternatives.
LaVellutata, which means velvet, is owned by a Venice-born chef and her boyfriend who wanted to put their own unique, healthier twist on Italian cuisine.
Veggie burgers, soups and salads are all staples on the menu, incorporating the Italian way of cooking to create colorful and flavorful dishes.
The owners hope to expand to other locations in the next few years.
