Students pitch in to pack 300,000 meals for people in need

Students in Brookville have been hard at work this week in an effort to combat hunger, one meal at time.
Long Island Lutheran Middle and High School students are packing up 300,000 meals for those in need over just three days.
It's the school's eighth time hosting the meal-packing event. Organizers say 200,000 of the meals will go to Long Islanders in need, and the rest will be sent to students in Haiti. For some of those students, it will be the only meal they eat that day.
"It's great to be making a difference in the world," says Chloe Findlay, a seventh-grader at LuHi.
Administrator Jane Lottes says she couldn't be more proud of her students.
"If you learn to give back at a young age, you'll give back all your life," Lottes says.
The whirlwind effort will be complete by Tuesday night.
