Watson Ave. tenants rally for NYCHA repairs

Tenants of a NYCHA building on Watson Avenue demanded improvements to their complex at a rally Monday.
They say their roofs are crumbling, their walls are leaking and their complaints have gone unanswered for almost 10 years.
The governor's office had recently announced $250 million in funding to help NYCHA repair its aging buildings. Tenants at the rally want to know where that money is going.
"This is our home," says the Rev. Carmen Hernandez, who is president of the 1471-73 Watson Avenue Resident Council. "They don't understand, we're about to lose it. And we can't."
