ROCKVILLE CENTRE -

Police are searching for the man who reportedly stalked a girl near a Rockville Centre bus stop.

Police released a sketch of a man between 30 and 40 years old with braided black hair and a braided goatee. Detectives believe he may have tried to kidnap a 10-year-old Rockville Centre girl.

The girl told police she was walking to her bus stop on N. Forest Avenue and Maple Avenue when the man tried to convince her to leave with him last Tuesday morning. Police say the girl was able to run away.

Police say the man has also been seen at the nearby Wilson Elementary School, which is about a mile away.
