Heavy rains, wind pound Long Island
Heavy rains and high winds pounded Long Island on Monday.
News 12 meteorologists say as the day goes on there will be some breaks of sunshine by late afternoon.
Rain totals ranged between 1 to 3 inches, which lead to possible flooding on roadways and highways. A coastal flood advisory was issued for Nassau and Suffolk counties through 1 p.m.
High temperatures for the day will reach the mid-50s.
For Tuesday, expect a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the low-50s.
Wednesday will be a little warmer, with high temperatures at 55 to 60 degrees under partly cloudy skies.
