SEAFORD -

A Seaford Middle School student brought a plastic flare gun on campus Friday, officials say.

Superintendent Adele Pecora sent a letter to parents that said the building administration was alerted about the flare gun from fellow students before the start of the school day.

“The administration immediately launched an investigation and took possession of it. At no time was there a threat to any student or staff member,” the letter states.

The student who brought in the flare gun will be disciplined, according to Pecora.
