An alleged MS-13 gang member has been convicted of using threats to try and recruit new members.
Prosecutors say Juan Lopez approached the victims on a soccer field last year.
"Just days after the quadruple homicide in Central Islip, this defendant Juan Lopez and MS-13 forces, along with others, approached the victims -  young Latino boys in Huntington Station and threatened them to join the M-S-13 gang," says Suffolk District Attorney Tim Sini.
He allegedly told the boys that if they resisted they'd end up dead in a park.
