Business Briefs: Facebook, Tesla, 'Black Panther'
Posted: Updated:Facebook is now telling users that if they're one of the 87 million people whose data was harvested and shared with the analytics firm Cambridge Analytica, the company will post a detailed message at the top of news feeds, with options on how to enhance their privacy. CEO Mark Zuckerberg is also meeting with members of congress on Capitol Hill today in advance of his testimony Tuesday and Wednesday, according to Cheddar.
Tesla drivers could soon be going off roading. Asked by a user on Twitter when the Model 3 would have 4-wheel-drive, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said 'probably july.' Musk tweeted that manufacturing levels need to increase to 5,000 per week before 'adding the complexity.' Currently the company is only manufacturing about 2,000 Model 3 vehicles per week.
"Black Panther" is now the third highest grossing film in North American history, surpassing "Titanic." The superhero hit has now made $665 million domestically. "Black Panther" follows "Avatar," which is in second. "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" remains king of the box office, at least for now.
