WOODBURY -

The LIRR has added extra trains to accommodate those celebrating the Jewish celebration of Passover and the celebration of Good Friday.

Good Friday is the continuation of the Christian Holy Week and marks the crucifixion of Christ.

The Christian celebration ends Easter Sunday with the resurrection of Christ.

The LIRR says it will be operating eight extra trains from Penn Station between 2:08 p.m. and 3:48 p.m.

It is in observance of both religious holidays today.
