Gov. Dannel Malloy partially activated the state's Emergency Operations Center Wednesday afternoon.
As of Wednesday evening, there were no reports of power problems. Crews at Eversource said they were ready for whatever the storm brings.
The governor also said the Department of Transportation had more than 600 plow trucks and 200 private contractors ready to clear the roads.
“If you must travel tonight, please exercise extreme caution," Malloy warned. "If you don’t need to travel, it’s a good night to stay in.”
The governor also asked residents to check on elderly or disabled neighbors who may need help during the storm.
Anyone affected by an outage can report it online or by phone at 800-286-2000.
