Flames that broke out at a recycling facility in Queens halted service Friday on several Long Island Rail Road branches.
Officials say the fire started shortly after 1 p.m. next to the LIRR tracks in Hillside, Queens. Chopper 12 captured firefighters on the tracks dousing the blaze.
For several hours, four LIRR branches -- the Port Jefferson, Ronkonkoma, Oyster Bay and Hempstead -- were suspended.
Officials say one firefighter suffered a minor injury.
The LIRR is expected to be running extra trains for St. Patrick's Day.
More information about service changes can be found online at MTA.info and the LIRR Twitter page.
