Hauppauge SD adds armed security guards to campuses

News 12 Long Island has learned the Hauppauge School District is adding armed security guards to its campuses.

District Superintendent Dennis O’Hara says all of the armed guards are former police officers, who have extensive weapons training.

O’Hara says they will complement school security guards at the district's five campuses.
