Borough President Eric Adams joined hundreds of students and others to rally against gun violence Wednesday, the day of a nationwide walkout demanding congressional action on school shootings.
Wednesday also marked one month since the massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, which left 17 people dead.
"This is not just a moment, this is a movement," Adams said. "We want to take their anger and frustration and turn it into agitation that forces change."
Speakers at the rally also urged students to register to vote.
