WEST LONG BRANCH -

A car crashed through the wall of a Monmouth County preschool Tuesday, narrowly missing the children.

It happened at the Goddard School on Route 71 in West Long Branch. Authorities say that a grandfather of a child at the school mistakenly hit the gas instead of the brake and crashed into the wall.

The children were in the classroom to the right of where the car hit.

One teacher was taken to the hospital for minor injuries. Officials say that she was in the classroom that the car crashed into. She was apparently hit by a table and fell into the wall.

The driver of the car was not hurt.
