To Mars, and beyond! SpaceX CEO Elon Musk held a surprise Q&A session at the South by Southwest conference in Austin, Texas. Musk projects his Mars spaceship will be ready for short trips by the first half of next year. The long-term goal is to put a human colony on Mars.

Score one for Twitter. The social media site has inked a three-year streaming deal with Major League Soccer. At least 24 matches per season will be broadcast on Twitter in the United States. The move comes the same week Facebook scored global rights to stream 25 Major League Baseball games. 

It's official, Costco has everything. The store is now selling doomsday food kits capable of feeding a family of four for one year. You can get a mass supply of fruit, dairy, protein, and grains for prices between $1,000 and $6,000. The food has a shelf life of 25 years.
