Police pursuit ends with crash, arrest

WEST BABYLON -

State police say a pursuit that started Sunday morning on the Southern State Parkway near the Belmont Avenue exit ended in a crash and arrest.

They say troopers chased the Chrysler until it crashed at the corner of Governor Avenue and Lakeway Drive in West Babylon.

That's where police say the driver, 26-year-old Jevonne Mimms, of West Babylon, tried to run away.

Mimms was caught and charged with DWI, resisting arrest and other charges.

Troopers say a passenger ran away and was not caught.
