Search continues for missing teen with special needs
State police have issued a Silver alert for a missing teen from Bridgeport who hasn't been seen in five days.
News 12 Connecticut spoke to Jennifer Pellechio, whose 16-year-old daughter is being sought by state and local law enforcement after going missing from the Children's Center in Hamden.
Pellechio has made a series of fliers for her daughter, Kayla Ortiz, who has special needs.
Ortiz was in Hamden undergoing medical treatment for what her mother describes as psychiatric conditions related to her special needs.
Pellechio says her daughter is off her medications, has food allergies and is not wearing a bracelet for them. she says she is urgently in need of medical attention.
Police are asking anyone who may have seen Ortiz to call them immediately.
