Police: Woman tried to hold up gas station at knifepoint

LAKE RONKONKOMA -

Authorities say they are looking for a woman who attempted to hold up a Suffolk gas station at knifepoint.

It happened Friday at the BP station on Church Street in Lake Ronkonkoma.

The woman with the knife allegedly demanded cash from the clerk.

The clerk would not comply, and police say the woman fled.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
