Howell Township police have charged a 19-year-old man with armed robbery and stalking after he allegedly followed two women home with the intent of robbing them.
Police say that the first incident happened Feb. 24. They say that Tristan Reyes followed an 18-year-old woman out of her car and into the Howell Shoprite. He allegedly followed her around the store and then followed her car on her way home.
Police say that the woman became suspicious and called her father who attempted to confront Reyes, who fled the area.
Police say Reyes also attempted to rob a 38-year-old woman at her home on Michele Boulevard Thursday afternoon after he followed her home from the store.
Police say that Reyes can be seen on the home’s surveillance system driving up to the home and stalking around the house. The woman had just returned home from the grocery store and had left her garage door open while she put away her groceries.
The family dog can be seen on the surveillance video coming out to confront Reyes, who drove away from the area.
Police say that a Black Honda Odyssey was used in both incidents.
Officials believe that Reyes is responsible for stalking and following several other women.
Anyone who have any information about the case should contact Howell Police Detective Corporal Nancy Carroll at 732-938-4575 ext. 2182 or 732-938-4111. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to www.p3tips.com.
