Homeless man charged with posing as passenger at Republic Airport

EAST FARMINGDALE -

A homeless man has been arrested after an incident raised security concerns at Republic Airport.

According to police, Eladio Gonzalez, 44, posed as a passenger and tried to board a plane at the airport in East Farmingdale yesterday.

However, officials say he ran off when someone became suspicious.

Gonzalez was arrested a short time later and is now charged with trespassing.
