BELLEVILLE, N.J. (AP) -- A Belleville man has been charged in what prosecutors say is the first case since the state expanded a law that bans sexually suggestive images of minors.

Anthony Domenick, 25, has been charged with possessing explicit images and having "child erotica" following a search of his home Wednesday, according to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office.

Prosecutors say the "child erotica" law that went into effect Feb. 1 criminalizes images where children are clothed but suggestively-posed or inappropriately sexualized.

If convicted, Domenick could face up to 10 years in prison.

It's unclear if he has an attorney.
