Sussex Vo Tech was evacuated Tuesday after a note written on a wall referenced an explosion at the school later in the day.
The message, which was written on a bathroom stall, read, "BOMB GOES OFF AT 12:15 TODAY," according to police.
Sparta police evacuated the school a little after 11 a.m. Students were taken to the White Lake Road soccer fields, according to an email sent to parents.
Nearby police departments, the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office and the New Jersey State Police bomb squad came to the school to investigate. No one was hurt and no arrests have been made, according to officials. Authorities say that nothing dangerous was found inside the school.
Students were sent home around 12:30 p.m.
"All threats are taken seriously, especially since the horrific incident that just occurred in Parkland, [Florida]," police said in a statement, "The safety of all school personnel and students is paramount."
This was the latest in a series of threats made against New Jersey schools in the wake of a school shooting in Florida that left 17 people dead. Several New Jersey students are facing charges for threats allegedly made against schools and classmates.
