Police say they arrested a man accused of robbing a Medford gas station attendant at knifepoint.

As News 12 reported, a man went into the BP gas station on Expressway Drive South Friday night and stole $350 and a pack of cigarettes.

Police say they were led to the suspect, 30-year-old Kevin Hauff, of Coram, by a News 12 viewer who contacted them after seeing the surveillance video.

Officials say that Hauff is seen on a very clear surveillance video with a full head of hair robbing the BP station. He was seen at police headquarters Sunday with a shaved head.

Jose Ruano, the clerk, who was allegedly robbed by Hauff, says he was shocked when he saw the suspect stroll in and walk behind the counter.

"I was told someone was going to come and fix the sink. I thought that was him and then next thing you know he pulled out a knife and I was like that's definitely not the guy fixing our sink.,” he says.

He says after Hauff took the money and a cigarettes, he jumped in his car. Ruano says he tried to follow the suspect, but he wasn't able to get his license plate. However, with nearly 20 cameras at the gas station, the suspect made no attempt to cover his face.

Hauff is being held on $35,000 cash bail or $75,000 bond. He's due back in court March 2.
