Gravestones found abandoned at NYC Parks Department property

Four gravestones were found abandoned at Ferry Point Park Friday.
Although Margaret "Peg" Jean Smith died in 2013, her daughter, Cheri Grimes, says she and her siblings purchased their late mother's stone last spring on headstonedeals.com.
Grimes says the first stone the company made was flat, but she had paid for a bevel stone. She also says the company fixed the mistake before shipping the stone to her.
The New York City Parks Department, whose property the stones were discovered on, says, "NYC Parks is coordinating with our partners at NYPD to determine when and how these items were illegally discarded at this site."
