With flu cases continuing to rise on Long Island and throughout the country, Dr. Chid Llobachie, of Northwell Health, says washing your hands is one of the most important things you can do to stop the spread of the illness.
"Being in close quarters with people means that their germs are your germs, and your germs are their germs," said Dr. Llobachie.
Just last week alone on Long Island, there were 395 confirmed cases of influenza in Suffolk and 352 in Nassau.
More than three dozen kids have died nationwide.
