HEMPSTEAD -

A landscaper is facing 25 years to life in prison when he is sentenced today for beating a man to death in a Hempstead park.

Officials say Marvin Yanez beat Luis Rustrian Estrada in Brierley Park in 2016.

The district attorney's office says Yanez attacked the 31-year-old while he was sleeping, according to Newsday.

Yanez’s attorney says he was not in the park that night and no DNA links him to the killing.
