Owner: Thief struck Lynbrook convenience store again

A Lynbrook convenience store owner says a burglar struck his shop once again early Thursday morning.
Surveillance video shows a man enter Ara Market on Hempstead Avenue around 2:15 a.m. after it had closed for the night.
Store owner Rafat Saleh says the thief shattered the glass front door, headed straight for the register once inside and made off with cash, scratch-off lottery tickets and cigarettes.
Saleh says he believes it is the same person who has struck his shop five times since it opened in 2012. In January 2014, News 12 reported that someone took an entire ATM from the store.
The thefts have taken a toll on Saleh and his business. Because of the break-ins, he says he can't afford insurance for the store and that each theft comes directly out of his paycheck.
"I work 14-hour days...and that's not fair," Saleh says.
Police say their investigation into the latest break-in is ongoing.
