North Bergen teacher assaulted while trying to stop fight

A North Bergen High School teacher was kicked in the face while attempting to break up a fight between two teenage girls.
Officials say that two North Bergen High School students were involved in a fist fight several blocks away from the school on Dec. 8.
Police say that the teacher, who was off duty at the time, attempted to break up the altercation and was thrown to the ground by 19-year-old Luis Flores. Flores was not and has never been a North Bergen High School student, according to officials.
Authorities say that Flores kicked the teacher in the face while the teacher was down on the ground.
The fight and the assault were recorded on video and posted to social media.
Police say that they were able to identify Flores and the two students involved in the fist fight from the video.
Flores was arrested on Dec. 11 and charged with aggravated assault and riot.
The two teenage girls and another teenage boy were also arrested and charged with disorderly persons offenses. Their names were not released due to their ages.
