Whipping winds took down trees and temporarily left hundreds of people in the dark on Christmas.
Gusts of over 60 mph uprooted trees, including one on Atlantic Avenue in East Moriches.
The Centerport Fire Department was also called in to remove a downed tree that toppled on Route 25A and hit the power lines.
PSEG says that at one point, 500 customers were without power.
