A Stamford synagogue served up traditional Christmas meals Monday at a local soup kitchen.
The meal for the hungry and homeless was served at the New Covenant Center.
Members of Temple Sinai say the temple's gift isn't just to those who are eating, but the year round volunteers.
“We know it's a Christian holiday, and we wanted to give everyone a day off," congregant Sally Kellman says.
Kellman estimates 80 members of Temple Sinai helped out this year, including servers, cook and those who dropped off food.
New Covenant Center is a program of Catholic Charities of Fairfield County. In 2018, it will be the center's 40th year serving the hungry and homeless in Stamford. The center also offers social services.
