A Seaford man accused of stalking and threatening his ex-girlfriend at her upstate college was arrested by federal authorities Wednesday. 

Thomas Traficante, 23, was charged with cyberstalking and making violent threats. He was held without bail. 

After searching the suspect's house in Seaford, federal authorities say they found a loaded AR-15 assault rifle, the same gun used in several mass shootings.

According to federal authorities, the Seaford resident had been sending disturbing messages to the victim, who is a student at a college in the Rochester area.

Other messages were also allegedly sent to the victim's friends. In one, the suspect allegedly wrote he would do something that could get himself shot and killed by a police officer.

Other texts allegedly read in part, "harm is coming" and "it's not safe out there tonight."

The suspect is also accused of mailing drugs to the victim in an attempt to get her arrested – including cocaine, MDMA and marijuana.

Investigators say he also sent his ex-girlfriend a book titled, "I am watching you," shot a BB gun at her family's Long Island home and listed her phone number on a prostitution website.

Federal authorities will be transferring Traficante to Rochester to face the charges filed there.
