Police release video of robbery at Hempstead cellphone store

Police say a gun holdup was caught on camera during a cellphone store robbery in Hempstead.

Police released the video of the man with a backpack and white hat.

On Nov. 24, police say the man entered the Metro PCS on South Franklin Street, spoke with the clerk behind the counter, but then pulled out a black handgun and demanded cellphones. The suspect then left with three phones and other merchandise.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
