More than 300 popular retail companies are filing for bankruptcy, according to BankruptcyData.com.
According to the website, that’s a 31 percent jump from this time last year.
Children clothing stores such as Gymboree, Janie and Jack, and Crazy 8 are closing several locations, along with Payless Shoes, and RadioShack among others.
Experts say an increase in online shopping is stealing customers away from more traditional shopping.
