New details have emerged in the case of a Bronx after-school aide accused of raping a 13-year-old girl.
Michael Jenkins, 24, appeared before a judge in the Bronx Thursday after being charged with rape, criminal sex acts, forcible touching, sex abuse and acting in a manner injurious to a child.
The New York Daily News reports it was the teen's sister who saw text messages sent to the 13-year-old from Jenkins.
Her sister told their mother about the lewd texts, then their mom alerted police.
Investigators reportedly busted Jenkins Wednesday after tapping into his cellphone.
Jenkins was caught talking to the teen on the phone.
In one conversation, investigators say Jenkins expressed his fears of getting caught for the inappropriate sexual relations he had with the P.S. 391 middle school student.
The smartphone evidence also allegedly revealed a ploy for the teen to play hooky Monday and instead meet Jenkins at his home where the two engaged in sex.
