LIRR: SantaCon booze ban will be in effect Saturday

NEW YORK -

The Long Island Rail Road will be banning alcohol onboard its trains Saturday as thousands of Christmas-themed characters are expected to attend SantaCon in Manhattan. 

The booze ban will be in effect from noon on Saturday through noon on Sunday.

Authorities say anyone who doesn't heed the warning will be subject to a summons.
