More than 200 people decked out in their holiday best turned out in Eisenhower Park Saturday for the second annual Santacon Walk, Run and Roll.
The event benefits League of Yes, a program that helps kids with disabilities play baseball at Eisenhower Park.
"The event is so special because it brings the community together," says race organizer Kristine Fitzpatrick.
"It's Christmastime, it's the season of giving - and it's to give back to the children and families," says Kelly Walsh, with League of Yes.
Dozens of children and adult volunteers handed out water during the race and made sure the event ran smoothly.
Miles Davidson, of Bellmore, finished the 5K first with a time of 23 minutes. He called the event “a great cause.”
