A woman fighting breast cancer in Mastic was able to celebrate Thanksgiving with the help of the Pink S.H.O.E.S. Inc. charity.

Pink S.H.O.E.S., which stands for strength, hope, optimism, endurance and survival, is a charity organization founded by two Amityville natives.

The charity says its mission is to assist young women and their families while battling breast cancer.

Pink S.H.O.E.S. brought all the Thanksgiving goods to Desiree Garcia and her family Thursday.

Garcia was diagnosed with breast cancer in April of last year and has gone through numerous surgeries and forms of treatment.
