A mom accused of driving high and crashing her car with her 2-week-old and 9-year-old children inside is facing charges this Thanksgiving.
Police say Tara Fontana, of Shirley, lost consciousness and hit a utility pole on Middle Country Road in Middle Island Wednesday around 4:30 p.m.
The 38-year-old and her two children were treated at Stony Brook University Hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening.
Fontana was arraigned Thursday.
Prosecutors said she had overdosed and had to be revived with Narcan.
She was forced to sign an order of protection to stay away from her 9-year-old son and 2-week-old daughter. They are in her fiance's custody.
She has two prior convictions from 2012, one for DWI and one for DUI.
Bond was set at more than $50,000.
