Long Islanders are making their last-minute travel plans as the Thanksgiving holiday approaches.
According to AAA, 50.9 million Americans will hit the road for the holiday. The number is an increase of over 3 percent and the most since 2005.
The official Thanksgiving travel period is considered from Wednesday through Sunday.
