Search underway for driver in fatal Brentwood hit-and-run

Police are searching for the hit-and-run driver who fatally struck a pedestrian in Brentwood early Sunday morning and then fled the scene.

The victim, 56-year-old Fredy Rivera-Bravo, was crossing Second Avenue near Seventh Street around 3:15 a.m. when he was struck.

Rivera-Bravo, of Brentwood, was taken to Southside Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A description of the vehicle was not immediately available.

Detectives are urging anyone with information to call 631-852-6555 or to call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-220-TIPS.
