Prototype for BQX unveiled at Navy Yard

A prototype design for the Brooklyn-Queens Connector unveiled Monday at the Brooklyn Navy Yard includes street-level boarding for people with disabilities and plenty of room for the 400,000 New Yorkers along the proposed route from Astoria to Sunset Park.
The proposed $2.5 billion streetcar tram, also known as the BQX, would connect the waterfront with inland areas of the two boroughs.
Mayor Bill de Blasio and Borough President Eric Adams both have voiced support for the project, which still requires an environmental impact study and city approval.
