Police: 1 dead after car slams into home in Plainview

An early morning crash killed a teen, and badly damaged a Plainview family's home.
Officials say an out-of-control Acura smashed into the side of a house on Round Swamp Road around 4:30 a.m.

According to investigators, a 19-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the car, was killed.

Two other passengers and the driver were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
According to the homeowner's father, four people were inside the house at the time of the crash, including a 1-year-old and a 3-year-old. They were all unharmed.
The homeowner's father tells News 12 that the house suffered serious structural damage in the crash. At this point it's unclear when the family can return.
People who live nearby say accidents like this are far too common, and speed is usually a factor.
The woman who died has not yet been identified by police. So far, no criminal charges have been filed.
