Funeral held for teen believed to be murdered by MS-13

CENTRAL ISLIP -

A funeral Mass was held today for a teen who is believed to be one of the latest victims of MS-13.

Javier Castillo, 15, vanished from Central Islip last year.

Castillo’s remains were found last month in Cow Meadow Park in Freeport and identified through DNA.

Castillo and his family left El Salvador to escape gang violence, but his dad says the boy was bullied by MS-13 in Central Islip schools.

Police on Long Island think MS-13 is behind at least 25 murders in Nassau and Suffolk counties in the last two years.
