Cheddar Morning Business Update 11/7: CVS to offer prescription delivery
CVS will start offering free, same-day delivery on prescription drugs starting in December in Manhattan and will expand nationwide early next year.
CVS could be trying to get ahead of Amazon, which is also reportedly looking to get into the drug delivery business.
Meanwhile, Amazon athletic wear is up and running. According to Bloomberg, the site is now selling two product lines that appear to be made by Amazon. They are called Rebel Canyon and Peak Velocity.  Many items like sweat pants, shorts and joggers are priced below $30. Amazon did not comment on the report.
Lastly, Starbucks is opening its first high-end Italian bakery at its Starbucks Reserve Roastery location in Seattle. This is the first time Starbucks will be baking its goods on site.
The Princi Bakery and Cafe will serve Italian sandwiches, breads and other desserts.
Up next, it will open a Princi bakery in Shanghai, Milan, New York, Tokyo and Chicago.
This is part of Starbuck’s strategy to bring customers in the door after the morning coffee rush.
