Voters are heading to the polls this Election Day following a year of county and town corruption.
News 12 Long Island’s Erin Colton asked voters if the corruption has played a role in their voting today. Many voters say the answer is absolutely.
Nassau County voters will head to the polls amid last year's arrests of two elected officials -- former Town of Oyster Bay Supervisor John Venditto and County Executive Ed Mangano.
The two people running for Mangano's position as county executive are Republican Jack Martins and Democrat Laura Curran. Both have tried to distance themselves from the alleged corruption of the seat they are trying to win.
Whether the arrests of two prominent elected officials affects the way they vote today or not, everyone News 12 spoke to wants to see an end to corruption.
Polls across Long Island close at 9 p.m.
