Cheddar Afternoon Business Update 11/3: ‘Stranger Things’ boasts strong ratings
Job growth has picked up in October. The Labor Department says the United States economy added 261,000 jobs last month.
The unemployment rate fell to 4.1 percent, which is the lowest level since the year 2000.
Meanwhile, Netflix hit series ‘Stranger Things’ has scarily strong ratings!
Nielsen just started measuring views, with the first episode of ‘Stranger Things 2’ raking in an average of 15.8 million viewers in the U.S. within a three-day period. About 4 million people watched the whole series.
Lastly, 50,000 runners are getting ready for Sunday’s New York Marathon. This year’s race is sponsored by the IT company TCS. The company tells Cheddar this will be the most technologically advanced marathon.
Fans can send virtual cheer cards that will be posted along the route, and get vital signs and stats from some celebrity runners, like Tiki Barber.
